An unforgettable birthday and a trip to the old station on the Fitzroy River.

We travelled into Fitzroy Crossing for lunch - Angie, Helen, Desley, Helen'sister-in-law, and I, and there we met Jenny Sharman, SOC Captain 1983, which was a lovely surprise.  On the way back to Yakanarra, about 40 kilometres from home, Helen asked tentatively, "Do you think we've got a flat tyre?" to which we all replied, "Yes!" and we had!  Out came the manual and, as we poured over it, having no clue what we were doing, two knights in shining armour arrived and saved the day!  Bear in mind that we had not met one car on that road on the way in, or on the way out, until this one drove past.  The boys were going hunting and had just decided to turn back when they came across us.  How lucky were we?  The other photos are of a day trip to the old station with some of the locals from Yakanarra whose families have lived in the area for generations.  Check out the fishing trap and the cage they used to hang the meat in before it was salted.  I apologise for the untidy layout but I find this blog very user unfriendly when it comes to moving photos around on a page!
