Our time in Yakanarra, a beautiful, remote community in the Kimberley area.

Well, we have been at Yakanarra Community School for four weeks which have been action packed but I'll let the photos do the talking!  The area is beautiful because of the St George Range that borders it on two sides and the sunsets are stunning almost every night.  It has been great to catch up with Helen and spend some time with her as she certainly is passionate about helping the people who live here.  The children are adorable and we are enjoying our teaching while, at the same time, finding it challenging in order to find the best ways to connect with the students.  The learning has certainly been a two way street as we have learned a tremendous amount since our arrival and we hope the wee ones have too!  We are teaching children aged between 3 and 7 so we have drawn on our grandparenting skills as well as building on the cultural knowledge that we have gained since arriving here!

Glorious colours but the pictures don't do them justice!
